Welcome to what we hope is our first weekly blog post! So, what is USA250/NEWMARKET300? First of all, we are a registered 501 c 3 non-profit corporation, so all donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Our mission is to encourage, help coordinate, market, and assist local organizations in producing events that celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, and the 300th Anniversary of Newmarket being set aside as a separate parish by the Colonial Governors Council and signed by Gov Benning Wentworth in 1727. Sounds like fun, and it will be, with a lot of work. Our committee members have been organizing and fundraising for several years, yet we still have no representation from many local organizations. The committee is made of local residents who have had experience in planning events, including Olde Home Weekends and Newmarket Heritage Festivals.
These celebrations are not just about our past, but looking at where we are now and what we want our future to be. We can't do it alone, and it's your celebration. Participate-Volunteer-Donate! If your organization has an annual event, lets help plan an extra special one as an official 300 event! In order to help market and set our calendar, we need information by July 1of 2026. Our meetings are the second Wednesday of every month at 6:00pm at the Sunrise/Sunset Center on Terrace Drive. If you have questions, or want more information, you can email us at newmarketnh300@gmail.com. Thank you for visiting! See you next week!
